14 Years

by Cathy Weber 14. September 2011 09:46

This month marks my 14th year with Parallel Employment Group.  During those 14 years, I have had the opportunity to witness the many changes that have taken place in the staffing world.  While many staffing agencies have been forced to close their doors due to economic issues, Parallel Employment Group has continued to grow, and we now have offices in Illinois, Wisconsin, and New York.  We continue to offer new opportunities to our clients and employees alike.  I feel fortunate to be able to work for an organization that has always been there to support their staff. If there is a question to be answered or an opinion to be heard, you know that there will always be someone to listen and lend a helping hand.  Knowing that you have the support of your corporate office gives you the confidence you need to take on more tasks, move out of your comfort zone, accept new challenges and achieve new goals.

I am proud to be a part of such a wonderful company and look forward to the years ahead.

Make the Interview Count

by Cathy Weber 22. March 2011 09:27

Interviewing at a company can be intimidating.  This is the first impression that will remain with the interviewer once you have completed the interview.  Several elements can be observed during the interview process, such as your posture.  Always sit up straight, look alert, and make eye contact with the person who is conducting the interview.  Be confident and respectful when answering questions.   Be sure to stay focused during your interview and do not talk about personal issues.   Be honest, accurate and polite when giving a response to a question.  Take some time to think about what you are going to say before answering a question.  It is acceptable to ask pertinent questions during the interview.

An interviewer is looking to see how an employee projects their personality, uses their communication skills and how they project their sense of self worth.

The interview also provides an opportunity to evaluate the employee’s written and verbal skills as well as any testing or screenings.   A sense of how the employee balances their personal life and work, which can affect their work ethic, can also be determined from an interview.

Interviewing makes a big impact on the decision making process so make it count!

These same factors can be utilized when interviewing prospective candidates for any Parallel position.
